About Take Root
I love helping businesses grow. Especially small business start-ups that have big vision but lack the where-with-all to achieve it. There is nothing more awarding then hearing a client say “Wow! That’s a great idea! I never would have thought of that?”
I didn’t choose this career. It chose me. In the beginning, I was literally dragged kicking and screaming into the catalog business when Bergdorf Goodman decided to centralize its operation and scooped up all the newbies (including me) to run it. It was the worst and the best day of my life.
I was lucky. Blessed with many wonderful mentors along the way, I thrived for 30 years at some amazing companies, including: Lands’ End, Hanna Andersson and Norm Thompson. They not only taught me how to grow a business, but also embodied the ideal that one doesn’t have to compromise oneself to be successful in business. And neither do you.
When the Internet changed the world, it changed mine too and I went looking for my next big adventure. I wanted to give back the knowledge and the riches I received. To be of service to others the way others had been for me. I found my calling in business coaching. And I discovered I was born for this work. I love my clients. I love helping them leap seemingly impossible hurdles. I love breaking down barriers of that truly exist only in the mind.
For a decade now I’ve been helping small and mid-sized businesses and their owners grow. I’m still pinching myself that I get to do this important work. Mind you I’m no Mother Theresa, but I am doing my small part to make this world a better place. Of that, I am certain.
What’s your big vision? I can’t wait to hear.
